The mission of e-GovWorld initiative is to enable a structured framework for e-Government cooperation among the stakeholders from developing and developed countries for sharing of learning practices. The annual e-GovWorld event is the forum that provides and opportunity to consultants, government agencies, academia and civil society organizations to deliberate on various issues related to the domain and showcase their initiatives/ applications. e-GovWorld 2008 is the fifth conference and it is organized jointly by The Society for Promotion of e-Governance and its partners from Government of India, The World Bank and Global Governance Industry Players.
This year's Summit will be held in New Delhi, India next November 27-28th. The theme for this year's confrerence is 'Foresight for Third Millennium Public Services' with a special focus on Mobile Governance for making the government services available to underserved and rural areas. eGovWorld 2008 offers an opportunity for e-Government stakeholders and practitioners interested in the issues related to the themes of the tracks of the conference. This Conference provides a forum for discussion, collaboration and intellectual exchange for all those interested in any of these fields of research or practice.
A call for papers has been launched recently, last date for abstract submission is August 31st. The conference committee welcomes both academic and practitioner papers on a wide range of topics and a wide range of scholarly approaches including theoretical and empirical papers employing qualitative, quantitative and critical methods. Action research, case studies and research in practice are welcomed approaches. Work-in-progress, panel discussion, proposals for workshops and tutorials are also welcome.
Around 300 participants and decision makers from around 30 countries are expected to participate. Additionally a Global Ministerial Conclave through Video Conference as well as a dedicated track on Public Private Partnerships for e-Government Projects is also planned.
